Overview

Traditional app help systems often rely on static tables of contents or search features, which can be cumbersome for users seeking quick and detailed answers. Our client wanted a more dynamic solution that could intelligently respond to user queries. Valerian Technology worked on configuring Microsoft Copilot to act as the "help" system within the app, transforming user support by leveraging AI to deliver specific, actionable solutions based on ingested manuals and documentation.

Objective

The primary goal was to replace the static help system with an AI-powered chatbot that could understand and answer user queries in real time, providing context-specific examples and solutions drawn from the app's help manuals. This would improve user experience and efficiency by reducing time spent searching for answers and enabling more intuitive, responsive support.

Challenges

This project presented several challenges. First, the help manuals were dense and varied in structure, making it difficult to ensure consistent and accurate responses from the chatbot. We needed to configure Microsoft Copilot in such a way that it could effectively interpret and prioritize information from multiple sources. Another challenge was maintaining the precision of the responses, ensuring that users received relevant, detailed answers that solved their specific problems without overwhelming them with unnecessary details. Additionally, ensuring smooth integration with the app’s existing support infrastructure was essential to create a seamless user experience.

Solution

We customized Microsoft Copilot to ingest and understand the app’s help manuals, transforming them into a resource that the AI could reference in real time. We worked on fine-tuning the natural language processing capabilities so that the chatbot could accurately interpret user questions and provide concise, relevant answers. This involved mapping out common user queries and ensuring that the AI was able to match those questions to the most pertinent sections of the manual. Moreover, the chatbot was designed to deliver detailed examples and step-by-step solutions, providing users with the clarity needed to resolve issues efficiently. Integration with the app's user interface was also optimized to ensure a fluid and intuitive experience.
