Dan is a Principal Engineer with over 15 years of experience in the software industry, having held key technical leadership and engineering management roles at companies such as Compass, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Lockheed Martin. Throughout his career, Dan has applied a strong focus on architecture and design, creating robust, real-world solutions that deliver performance and stability, whether for 1,000 users or 100,000.
At Lockheed Martin, Dan was a member of the Shark Tank organization and the Combat Edge R&D team, where he worked on cutting-edge solutions reviewed by high-ranking military officers and executives. During his time at AWS, Dan was an early member of the Elastic Block Store (EBS) Server team, helping to develop scalable, high-performance storage that became the backbone of EC2, one of AWS’s most successful offerings. At Compass, he was a founding member of the Network Automation team, where he led efforts to re-architect and standardize the platform's networking layer. Dan later became the engineering manager for the Foundational Infrastructure sub-organization, overseeing the core infrastructure powering the Compass technology stack.
